Intermediate course is the next step for students who have qualified CA Foundation Examination and first step for students enrolling through Direct Entry Route which assess the analytical knowledge of students in addition to Comprehension and Application.

Eligibility

  • For Registration: The following persons are eligible for Registration
    1. Candidates who have qualified Foundation Examination
    2. Commerce Graduates/Commerce Post-Graduates with Minimum 55% Marks
    3. Other Graduates/Other Post-Graduates with Minimum 60% Marks
    4. Intermediate level passed candidates of Institute of Company Secretaries of India and Institute of Cost Accountants of India
    5. Final Year Graduates can make Provisional Registration
  • For Appearing Examination
    1. Candidates who have passed Foundation level of ICAI,ICSI or ICMAI can appear for Intermediate exams after completing 8 months study period after intermediate Registration. Due Date for Registration -1st Mar and 1st Sep for November and May Attempt respectively
    2. Graduates/Post-Graduates who enrolling through Direct Entry Route can appear for exams after undergoing Four weeks of ICITISS and completing 9 months of practical training. Due Date for Registration- 1st Feb and 1st Aug for November and May attempt respectively

About Exam

  • The exams are descriptive and do not carry negative marking.
  • A candidate is required to obtain 40% marks in each paper and 50% marks in the aggregate of all the papers in each of the groups.

GROUP - 1

  • Paper-1: Accounting(Other papers are 100% Descriptive.)
  • Paper-2: Corporate and Other Laws(30 % Objective and 70 % Descriptive.)
  • Paper-3: Cost and Management Accounting(Other papers are 100% Descriptive.)
  • Paper-4: Taxation(30 % Objective and 70 % Descriptive.)

GROUP - 2

  • Paper-5: Advanced Accounting(Other papers are 100% Descriptive.)
  • Paper-6: Auditing and Assurance(30 % Objective and 70 % Descriptive.)
  • Paper-7: Enterprise Information Systems & Strategic Management(30 % Objective and 70 % Descriptive.)
  • Paper-8: Financial Management & Economics for Finance(Other papers are 100% Descriptive.)

Passing Criteria

A candidate must appear in all the papers in a group and get minimum of 40% marks in individual paper and 50% marks in aggregate of all 4 papers in a group to pass a single group.

Students can appear in the examination group-wise or both groups together. Same rule applies to the other group as well.
